Hi, I am Lorna Halstead, and I live in Melksham in Wiltshire.

I first discovered the Joy of Painting with Bob Ross, one night as my husband and I were flicking through the TV channels.  By chance we happened to stumble upon this fuzzy haired American with a hypnotic voice.  We sat and watched in amazement as he painted a fabulous picture in 30 minutes.  I was then hooked, and Bob became a regular fixture in my evening viewing.

It was several years later when I actually decided to give it a go.  I bought all the equipment and started to paint.  It obviously took me longer than Bob’s 30 minutes, but the picture I produced was amazing.  

I continued to paint using Bob’s technique, and finally decided that I wanted to learn how to teach and to share the experience with others.

So I trained and became a Certified Bob Ross instructor.  I now do demonstrations and hold classes, and exhibit my work.

I am also the Chair of the Melksham Arts for All Group, whose aims are to make art accessable to all.  This technique compliments that aim perfectly, as you really don’t have to be able to draw or have previous painting experience to produce amazing results.
